Featured Homes

2026 Woodland Heights Home Tour Welcomes Spring March 27-29. The 2026 Woodland Heights Home Tour, “Crossing the Threshold,” will carry tour-goers into six historic homes along with a special feature local landmark, March 27-29.

The tour kicks off with the popular “preview happy hour” Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. for self-guided sneak peaks at the homes, no waiting in line, and wine and cheese at each stop. A great start to the weekend!

Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29, the homes are open noon to 5:30 p.m., with docents providing information on the homes’ history, architectural features and design. Tickets are $30 in advance, online only this year, or $35 tour weekend, online or at the tour ticket booths. Preview tickets are $50 and good all weekend.

The tour’s proceeds benefit the Woodland Heights Civic Association, including preservation and beautification projects.

“Crossing the Threshold”

Step into the 2026 tour homes showcasing the neighborhood’s architectural diversity and the owners’ eclectic design aesthetics:

1119 Bayland

“Hidden Glam” – Unassuming from the outside, this 1,978 square foot house was built in 1923 and sold for $750. Tucked between the main house and the delightful back guest house (968 sf) is an amazing entertaining space. The home’s overall neutral palette is brightened with gold accents that bring sparkle to every room and tie the home together. Note the fascinating art.

526 Byrne

“Grandparents’ Delight” – Moving from The Woodlands to be closer to the grandkids, the homeowners purchased this quintessential 1920s 2-1 brick bungalow in the historic district and expanded it into a four-bedroom showplace by way of a two-story addition to the back. Two screened-in porches encourage enjoyment of the beautiful gardens that surround the home.

520 Euclid

“The Train House” – Built in 1913, the current owners refreshed the home and added space at the back and in a converted attic. The star of the show for train aficionados, however, can be found in the garage. A labor of love by the homeowner, it features a panorama wrapping all four walls, a full-room train track, and dozens of train cars, many collector’s items.

520 Omar

“Light and Bright” – Built in 1909, remodeled in 1999 and refreshed by the current owner last year, this home retains the character and many features of the original, including pocket doors, window frames and workable transom windows. An addition includes a family room with a staircase, previously located outdoors, leading to a converted attic with a dormer, housing kids’ bedrooms and playroom.

215 W. Norma

“Cute and Cozy”  – Located in the former 1923 Woodland Heights Baptist Church, this re-imagined condo features a massive beam and columns, original flooring, and interior brick walls, with a renovated kitchen and bathrooms and added built-ins for storage. High ceilings, lime-washed walls, huge windows and multiple chandeliers balance the dark wood trim, beams and molding.

504 Woodland

“Original Wilson” – Built in 1910 by William Wilson – the neighborhood’s first developer – this three-story American foursquare house with its original Queen Anne/free classic details is a city of Houston protected landmark. A 2007 remodel added 17 feet to the back of the home while maintaining its historical integrity, including salvaging now-unavailable red pine flooring for the expansion.

Special Feature: 114 Byrne

“Law and Order” – This former Masonic Lodge-turned law office, which will serve as one of the tour’s ticket locations, retains some interesting historic features, including the original elevator, which still functions. Check out the ceiling beams and the “social room” upstairs.
