WHCA and Boy Scouts Troop 30 observe this federal holiday by putting up flags at houses in our neighborhood. The Holiday Flag Program marks these occasions by displaying flags at the homes of participating sponsors; the money raised supports Boy Scout Troop 30 and the WHCA Beautification Committee. To take part in the Holiday Flag Program, visit the WHCA's online store to become a sponsor.

About Veterans Day
Veterans Day is a Federal Holiday created to honor all service members, living and deceased, who served honorably in the military. The holiday started as Armistice Day, marking the end of World War I on November 11. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a bill renaming Armistice Day to Veterans Day and made it a federal holiday honoring all American veterans from every war.
