Jr. High has expressed a desire to help with the Green
Valentine Tree day at Stude
Park.

their help and cooperation in the planning of the Centennial Year,
R.C.
reported that there are no chairs for the 2008 Home
Tour. We recently lost both chair persons, and no one has volunteered
for the position. The Home Tour gives the neighborhood wonderful visibility, but
the time period for putting on this enormous eventhas almost expired.
- There
was a lengthy discussion about the Home Tour, but there were no volunteers
from the floor.
- The
Preservation Fair was discussed.
No one volunteered to chair this event.
- A
larger Family Picnic was discussed at a time in the early fall, so as not to
interfere with LITH or Travis Fall Festival. No comments or
decisions.
Officer

- Vicky
Bettis reported a mid December total of $25,645.00,
representing 598 members. This
exceeds last years total by fourteen percent.
- R.C.
Hayden reported a YTD balance of
$1,925.44. The Gala and Street Dance were a tremendous success /
The Gala reporting a profit/ the Street Dance reporting a loss.
- Chuck
Britton reported that burglaries and robberies were down
during December. There is an Anti
Graffiti group in the Houston
Heights, and they can be called for
painting over graffiti. (see newsletter)
- Sharon
Greiff and Terri Guerra plus all the volunteers put on the
most outstanding LITH in the past 20 years. An incredible event reported by all. A
profit was made this year, and the Board voted to give a $2000.00 grant to
each of the following schools. Travis Elementary,
Hogg Jr. High, and Reagan Senior High. The money will be for their Music
departments. Next year, LITH will be scaled back, and a quiet event is already
being planned. (see newsletter)
Prevailing
Lot Size: Sixty
percent of the neighborhood
is either submitted, approved, or
being worked on. There is a need for volunteers to help complete
the other 40%.
Historic

area to try for historic designation.
- Tony
Maluski reported that all has
been quiet with Deed Restrictions.
Infrastructure:
The storm sewer project
is coming along amazingly well. It
is about 60% complete.
Houston Avenue is now
being repaved, and the project is moving further up into the neighborhood. (see newsletter) The new water main
project will be starting soon, but the parameters have not been
designated. The condos on
Morrison Street are at a
complete standstill.
- The
Board needs three people from the body to fulfill the Nominating

interested in serving, please contact one of the Board members. (see
newsletter)
- Beth

should be in the hands of the Quadrant leaders by Thursday or Friday.
