Map of the Woodland Heights Getting to the Woodland Heights

Woodland Heights is north of I-10 and White Oak Bayou, just one exit west of downtown Houston. From I-10 East or I-10 West, take the Taylor street exit and turn north onto Watson, proceed until you reach Bayland and turn right onto one of the loveliest streets in the city, in the heart of the Woodland Heights. If you are coming from I-45, turn onto I-10 West then exit at Taylor (first exit) and turn right onto Watson.

About Woodland Heights: Founded in the first decade of this century, the Woodland Heights area comprises a number of different historic subdivisions, including Woodland Heights proper and other legal entities like Norhill, Woodland Terrace, and Woodland Heights Annex. Loosely speaking, the neighborhood boundaries are as follows:
North = Pecore Street
South = White Oak Bayou/Interstate 10
East = Houston Avenue/Interstate 45
West = Studewood Street

The original Woodland Heights subdivision actually covers approximately half the area within those boundaries. The remaining area has been filled in by other established subdivisions over the past 90 years.

Woodland Heights is roughly 10 blocks east-southeast of its better-known cousin, the "Houston Heights."
