Nowadays, when someone wants baked goods, they're much more likely to go to our neighborhood's famed Dacapo's at the corner of 11th and Studewood. Their croissants, sandwiches, and fresh baked breads are "to die for."

Woodland Heights Baptist Church
Across the street from Travis Elementary, Woodland Heights Baptist's red brick facade provides a solid counterpoint to the predominantly wooden structures it faces.

St. Mark's Methodist Church
With its imposing stone structure, St. Mark's brings a flavor of the old world to the neighborhood. The church faces Pecore Street along the northern edge of Woodland Heights.

Episcopal Chapel
This quaint and tiny chapel is a pleasant surprise for visitors who round the corner from Beauchamp onto Byrne.

Zion Lutheran Detail
This stain glassed window is a detail from Zion Lutheran Church at the corner of Beauchamp and Pecore Streets.

Stude Park Sculpture
This monumental metal sculpture rises into the sky above Stude Park. Drivers on nearby I-10 can see the work of art gleaming in the distance, as they come out of downtown and head west over White Oak Bayou near the Studemont/Heights exit.
